Higher Student and Staff Satisfaction Rates
  • The student overall satisfaction rate in all programmes remained almost similar to the satisfaction rate on in-person offering. Some programmes have increased, such as the Foundation Programme from 88% to 91.5% and Web Media from 87.9% to 91.7%. Further, the grades did not inflate and remained within the same range as in previous years.
  • The staff overall satisfaction rate increased significantly by 10.5 % in comparison to 2019. This indicates that the Polytechnic community has become more engaged and satisfied. It was also noticed the effective cooperation between both corporate and academic affairs.

STAFF RECRUITED

The Polytechnic recruited 22 new high qualified academic staff members for all faculties to enable the Polytechnic in achieving its strategic objectives.

HIGHER REVENUE ACHIEVED

The Polytechnic has been granted the highest level of assurance (5) for its finance system by an external audit firm and achieved a higher revenue of 15%. Further, it has centralised its purchasing database.

DIGITISED OPERATIONS AND SERVICES

Digitised 40 operations and services related to teaching and learning to ensure high quality of provisions and move online smoothly including Registry, Finance, Student Services and HR.

PRESS RELEASES PUBLISHED

The Polytechnic published 112 press releases and appeared in the official media of Bahrain 383 days, including 15 live interviews on Bahrain TV and 60 videos promoting #OurHeroes campaign. The media’s appearance covered the Polytechnic success stories in moving online and inspired other institutions during this challenging time by sharing what works. The Polytechnic was on the media almost daily during 2020, reaching Bahrain community and the GCC.

Courses Adjusted for Online Delivery

Bahrain Polytechnic 430 courses have been adjusted to be offered online effectively. Training activities of 645 hours were undertaken to build staff capacity in digital education and 6 virtual conferences and major events. The Polytechnic participated with 17 international presentations.

New Programme Development

Developed a wide range of new programmes to expand Bahrain Polytechnic offerings to support Bahrain economy and give the students wider options including Digital Marketing, Petroleum, Foundation Vocational Streams, Bachelors Programme in Film and Animation, Bachelor of Engineering Technology Programmes and Cyber Security Programme.

VIRTUAL LABS

Enriched the virtual learning environment through remote access to 12 virtual labs and 10 software to engage students and achieve the desired learning outcomes.

APPROVED POLICIES

The Applied Research and Enterprise Policy has been approved by the Board of Trustees. This is a comprehensive policy and clear procedures to establish a strong foundation and culture in applied research.
